The Crop Insurance Plan for Acreage Loss provides protection against vegetable crop production losses caused by designated perils. The below information is intended to be a quick reference only. For the full plan Regulations click here:
Coverage
This plan provides protection against a loss of production of, or damage to, eligible crops from a wide range of insurable perils. These perils include:
- Drought
- Frost (May 1 – Sept 30)
- Hail
- Wind
- Adverse Weather
- Excess Moisture
- Excess Heat
- Insects
- Plant Disease
- Wildlife
- Wildfire
Eligibility
Vegetable farming operations which have at least two acres of eligible crops in production are eligible to participate in this plan.
How to Enroll
If you wish to apply for Acreage Loss Insurance, please contact our office. Applications must be submitted by March 31st accompanied with a $50 premium deposit.
