Estimate your Producer Cost
The calculator provided on this website is for informational and estimation purposes only. While we strive for accuracy, the results generated are approximate and may not reflect the final or actual costs. Various factors can affect the final outcome.
The grey section in this calculator will be populated with your producer cost per insured unit for different available price options and coverage levels.
The insured unit is dependant on the plan and can be found on the top right corner.
Some examples of insured units for the plans are kilograms per hectare, tonnes per hectare, lbs per acre, liters per tap, and quarts per acre.
The price options for plans are set annually. Insured producers will choose which price option and coverage level their crop will be insured at when applying for coverage.
This calculator automatically populates with the average provincial yield we use to determine the guaranteed production of the crop.
If historical farm yield information is available, it can be entered in the box at the top right corner to receive a more tailored estimate.

This calculator allows users to experiment with different coverage levels and unit price options to estimate the total premium cost. Enter the total area you want to insure (for example: hectares, acres, or number of taps) and select the desired coverage level and price option.
The estimated total premium cost is then displayed. The total is also broken down to show the portion cost-shared by the Federal and Provincial governments and the portion paid by the producer.
